Stay awake without caffeine


Staying awake is easy ... five coffee cups and Red Bull can is all you need. You will be awake with eyes wide open, but the side effects that the body suffers should not be ignored. Winning sleepiness without the use of stimulants can be challenging.

We present 12 ways to achieve this without harming your health.

Certainly sleep is the best way to beat tiredness. Use these tips only when you absolutely must stay awake.

Fresh environment

Warm and comfortable environments make you sleepy. If you need to stay awake at school or meeting room find a place under the open window. 

Cold water

Spray on your face and wrists (the area where we measure pulse). Drinking cold water also can help, and if you drink water in large amounts you should be on your feet and use the toilet every thirty minutes.

Do not eat

The human body spends a great deal of energy during digestion. This can be a problem and to emphasise fatigue when you are trying to stay awake. Try fasting as one of the greatest way to avoid sleepiness.

Chewing sugar-free gum

It won't spoil your teeth and will generate enough physical activity to keep you awake. Strong peppermint flavours have refreshing effect. You could do s balloons to :).

Write

The idea is to keep your mind busy. If you attend a lecture or some business meeting, you can try to write down what they are saying.

A good laugh

See a funny video clip or read the favourite comic book. Good laugh will help your mind to be active and help you stay awake a little longer.

Music

Listening to music with a fast rhythm can be a great way to keep your mind awake. Who knows, it may encourage a small dance in you. At least with hands...

Turn on all lights

Darkness promotes sleepiness. Raise the blinds and turn on all possible light in the room.

Talk to friend

It is easier to stay awake when you have someone with whom you can interact. When you are alone you can use your phone. Talking is refreshing.

Go outdoors

Exposure to fresh air is always a great way to wake up your senses.

Fruit

Raspberries, apples, oranges and other fruits have strong energy and refreshing effect. Stay away from meat, bread and dairy products.
