Keeping the laptop on the lap affect male fertility

The habit of men to keep the laptop on the lap in one hour can reduce fertility, says a team of researchers from the University of Padua, led by androlog Carlo Foresta. The team using small chips measured temperature variations in the testes in men who keep laptops in his lap. In research it was found that this habit could raise the temperature of the testicles to two degrees per hour.

There are empirical observations that suggest that the increase in temperature in the testicles may affect sperm formation, together with the already known risks such as wearing tight pants, frequent visits to the sauna or elevated body temperature. In today's developed societies we are witness to the fact that more young people are using a laptop placed on their lap.
In addition, scientists from Padua investigated the temperature in in testicular among obese patients and in patients with varicose veins of the legs, a condition that is common in the appearance of varicose veins in the testicles. The temperature in the testes in both groups was increased by one degree Celsius.

The increased temperature is associated with infertility in men. Full results of the study will soon be presented to the Conference on Reproductive Health in Rome.
